Franco Ballerini was born on December 11, 1964. He died on February 7, 2010.

The Italian rider was a two-time winner in the Paris-Roubaix Classic.

He also stood on the podium another two times at the same event.

Ballerini won the 1995 Paris-Roubaix Classic in front of Andrei Tchmil of Russia and Johan Museeuw of Belgium.

Ballerini also won the 1998 Paris-Roubaix Classic in front of Andrea Tafi of Italy and Wilfied Peeters of Belgium.

Ballerini was 2nd in the 1993 Paris-Roubaix behind Gilbert Duclos-Lasalle of France.

Ballerini was also 3rd in the 1994 Paris-Roubaix behind Andrei Tchmil of Russia and Fabio Baldato of Italy.
