Barry Hoban was born on February 5, 1940. The British rider won one of the one-day classics and stood on the podium of another. Hoban
won the Ghent-Wevelgem Classic in 1974. Hoban was also 3rd in the 1972 Paris-Roubaix Classic behind Roger De Vlaeminck of Belgium and Andre Dierickx of Belgium.
