Nino Defilippis was born on March 21, 1932.
The Italian rider stood on the podium of a Grand Tour event and the World Championship Road Race.
He also won a Mountains Jersey in a Grand Tour event and one of the five monuments in cycling.
Defilippis was 3rd in the 1962 Giro d'Italia behind fellow Italians Franco Balmanion and Imerio Massignan.
Defilippis also won the Mountains Jersey in the 1956 Vuelta a Espana.
Defilippis was 2nd in the 1961 World Championship Road Race behind Rik Van Looy of Belgium.
Defilippis was also 5th in the 1953 World Championship Road Race behind Fausto Coppi of Italy, Germain Derycke of Belgium, Stan Ockers of Belgium, and Michele Gismondi of Italy.
In addition, Defilippis won the Tour of Lombardy Classic in 1958.
