  Maurice De Simpelaere

Maurice De Simpelaere was born on May 28, 1920. He died on January 30, 2005.

The Belgian rider won one of the five monuments in cycling.

He also won another one-day classic.

De Simpelaere won the 1944 Paris-Roubaix Classic in front of Jules Rossi of Italy and Louis Thietard of France.

De Simpelaere also won the Ghent-Wevelgem Classic in 1947.
