Aurelio Gonzalez was born on July 26, 1940. The Spanish rider won the Mountains Jersey in two of the three Grand Tour events.
He also stood on the podium in the third Grand Tour event.
Gonzalez won the Mountains Jersey in the 1968 Tour de France.
He also won the Mountains Jersey in the 1967 Giro d’Italia.
In addition, he was 3rd in the 1967 Vuelta a Espana behind Jan Janssen of Holland and Jean-Pierre Ducasse of France.
