Henk Lubberding was born on August 4, 1953.The Dutch rider won one of the one-day classics and placed in the World Championship Road Race.
Lubberding won the Ghent-Wevelgem Classic in 1980.
He was also 5th in the 1979 World Championship Road Race behind Jan Raas of Holland, Dietrich Thurau of Germany, Jean-Rene Bernaudeau of France, and Andre Chalmel of France.
