Edwig Van Hooydonck was born on August 4, 1968.

The Belgian rider twice won one of the five monuments in cycling.

He also twice stood on the podium of the Paris-Roubaix Classic.

Van Hooydonck won the Tour of Flanders Classic in 1989 and 1991.

Van Hooydonck was also 3rd in the 1989 Paris-Roubaix Classic behind Belgians Jean-Marie Wampers and Dirk De Wolf.

In addition, Van Hooydonck was 3rd in the 1990 Paris-Roubaix behind Eddy Planckaert of Belgium and Steve Bauer of Canada.
