Joseph Demuysere was born on July 26, 1907. He died on April 30, 1969.

The Belgian rider won one of the five monuments in cycling.

He also stood on the podium four times in the Grand Tour events.

Demuysere won the Milan-San Remo Classic in 1934.

He was also 2nd in the 1931 Tour de France behind Antonin Magne of France.

He was 3rd in the 1929 Tour de France behind Maurice DeWaele of Belgium and Giuseppe Pancera of Italy.

Demuysere was also 2nd in the 1932 Giro d’Italia behind Antonio Pesenti of Italy.

In addition, Demuysere was 2nd in the 1933 Giro d’Italia behind Alfredo Binda of Italy.
