Marianne Vos was born on May 13, 1987.

The Dutch cyclist had success in both the Olympic Road Race and the World Championship Road Race including a rare Olympic Road Race / World Championship Road Race double in the same year. The only other person to do this was Nicole Cooke in 2008.

She is generally thought of as the second greatest female cyclist in history, behind Jeannie Longo of France.

Vos won the 2012 Olympic Road Race in front of Lizzie Armitstead of Great Britain and Olga Zabelinskaya of Russia.

Vos won the 2006 World Championship Road Race in front of Trixi Worrack of Germany and Nicole Cooke of Great Britain.

Vos won the 2012 World Championship Road Race in front of Rachel Neylan of Australia and Elisa Longo Borghini of Italy.

Vos won the 2013 World Championship Road Race in front of Emma Johansson of Sweden of Rossella Ratto of Italy.

Vos was 2nd in the 2007 World Championship Road Race behind Marta Bastianelli of Italy.

Vos was 2nd in the 2008 World Championship Road Race behind Nicole Cooke of Great Britain.

Vos was 2nd in the 2009 World Championship Road Race behind Tatiana Guderzo of Italy.

Vos was 2nd in the 2010 World Championship Road Race behind Giorgia Bronzini of Italy.

Vos was 2nd in the 2011 World Championship Road Race behind Giorgia Bronzini of Italy.
