Maurice Garin was born on March 3, 1871. He died on February 18, 1957.

The French rider won the inaugural Tour de France plus was a two-time winner of the Paris-Roubaix Classic.

Garin won the inaugural Tour de France in 1903 in front of Lucien Pothier and Fernand Augereau of France.

Garin won the 1897 Paris-Roubaix Classic in front of Mathieu Cordang of Holland and Michel Frederick of Switzerland.

Garin also won the 1898 Paris-Roubaix in front of Auguste Stephane and Edouard Wattelier of France.

Garin was 3rd in the inaugural Paris-Roubaix in 1896 behind Josef Fischer of Germany and Charles Meyer of Denmark.

Garin was also 3rd in the 1900 Paris-Roubaix behind Emile Bouhours of France and Josef Fischer of Germany.
