Claudio Bortolotto is a former Italian road bicycle racer who was born in Orsago on 19 March 1952. 1974 marked his debut as a professional cyclist at the Giro d’Italia when he placed 15th overall. Bortolotto participated in the Giro d’Italia ten times; it was his most notable cycling accomplishment.
Twice, in 1979 and 1980, he won the mountain classification. Bortolotto’s best Giro d’Italia performance was in 1977, when he won a stage and finished eighth overall. In addition, he placed eighth in 1978 and ninth in 1981. In addition, he won the 1978 Grand Prix Midi Libre overall classification and a stage.
