Gianni Bugno was born on February 14, 1964.

The Italian rider was capable of winning both the Grand Tour events and the one-day races.

He won the World Championship Road Race twice, in consecutive years.

He also won the Giro d’Italia and one-day classics plus was a protagonist in the Tour de France.

Bugno won the 1991 World Championship Road Race in front of Steven Rooks of Holland and Miguel Indurain of Spain.

Bugno also won the 1992 World Championship Road Race in 1992 in front of Laurent Jalabert of France and Dimitri Konyshev of Russia.

In addition, Bugno was 3rd in the 1990 World Championship Road Race behind Belgians Rudy Dhaenens and Dirk De Wolf.

Bugno was 2nd in the 1991 Tour de France behind Miguel Indurain of Spain.

Bugno was also 3rd in the 1992 Tour de France behind Miguel Indurain of Spain and Claudio Chiappucci of Italy.

Bugno won the 1990 Giro d’Italia in front of Charly Mottet of France and Marco Giovannetti of Italy.

Bugno also won the Points Jersey that year.

Bugno won the Milan-San Remo Classic in 1990.

Bugno also won the Tour of Flanders Classic in 1994.
