Moreno Argentin is a former professional cyclist from Italy who participated in road races between 1982 and 1994. He was born on December 8, 1960, in San Donà di Piave, Italy’s Veneto region. Argentin was well-known for his climbing prowess and success in one-day events.

Argentin began his professional career with the Gis Gelati club in 1982. In 1983, he won his first professional race, the Trofeo Laigueglia, establishing himself as a promising rider. He won his first classic, the Amstel Gold Race, in 1984, and repeated the feat in 1985 and 1991. Argentin also won the Lombardia Giro in 1987 and 1991.

Argentin was well-known for his dominance on the Grand Tours. In the 1984 Giro d’Italia, he won two stages and held the pink jersey as race leader for three days. He also won three stages of the Tour de France in 1986, finishing eighth overall. Argentin won six stages of the Giro d’Italia and three in the Tour de France.

Argentin worked as a cycling commentator for Italian television after quitting from professional racing in 1994. He was inducted into the Italian Cycling Hall of Fame in 2013.
